Weapon light with flashing light - for extra peace of mind at night
Over the years I have changed my overall carry gear in one way or another numerous times, but over the years I have developed a preference. Over time, finding what works best for you is no easy task.
Over the past few years there has been a debate about the validity of carrying a weapon light versus carrying a standard handheld light. If we're being completely honest here, both styles of light have their advantages, but each style also has its disadvantages to consider. The pistol light is extremely effective tools for providing information in low/no light situations. Under stress, a quality gun lights for pistols will not only provide you with critical information, but it can also temporarily disable a person's ability to see if they are attacking you. If you have to draw your firearm at night, having a quality weapon light will give you a distinct advantage.
The key to fitting a glock light to your gun is to never use it for anything other than its intended purpose. Ultimately, no matter how you cut it, the muzzle will be pointed at whatever your light is illuminating, and if used incorrectly, it can create some major safety issues. I will often carry a pistol flashlight, but if you decide to carry one, please do keep the safety aspect in mind.
I cannot stress enough the practicality and usefulness of having a simple hand held torch on your person. Whether you are using the light in a dark closet to find extra batteries or just using it for everyday tasks, a handheld torch offers more uses than a weapon-mounted light. Often handheld lights are simpler in construction and control, which means they are often cheaper than quality pistol light. Not only are handheld lights usually cheaper than weapon lights, but they are also usually more practical in everyday life. The main problem with handheld lights is trying to use them under pressure with a handgun. If you try to use a handheld torch under pressure while carrying a firearm, it is likely to be bulky and not as effective as a weapon light.
It can be too easy to carry a gun lights for pistols, just put it on your belt and get on with your day. The reality of carrying a concealed gun can be quite complex and there are many personal options. Take a look at what you actually carry and make the choice that best suits your personal life.
