Magic grout pen

 We use grout pen on tiles everywhere in our home. I love the way it blends in with classic, inexpensive tiles and its practicality dictates that mould, stains and marks will not stand out in wet environments, especially in high-traffic areas such as the family bathroom or kitchen. Taking a sensible approach to using tile grouting pens is not a difficult task. We can very well use a tile grouting pen to complete the desired finish and even beautify our gaps.

The kitchen tiles, using the grout pen white, they look good. For a long time I've wanted to try a grout pen, in fact I bought one and it sat unused on my desk for a long time - partly because of nerves, but mainly because I didn't have the time. But we finally got it sorted and this is the result!

It took us a lot of time to get used to it at first, as we were used to lighter grouting, but for me the room immediately felt more like "us" and what we wanted at first. There are a few things to note here.

Our grout is fairly new (less than 2 years old) so it's in good condition and our tiles are miraculously very clean!

A single tile grout pen will not complete an entire room. If you have a large space, please don't try with just one grout pen. We used three grout pens in this area.

There are different sized tips. I used a 7ml one but they sell smaller and thicker ones (we accidentally bought a 15ml one and it was like a giant marker - we sent that one back).

The nibs usually wear out and get rough after a while. This means your lines are not as smooth and it becomes more difficult to mark on the grout. That's when you change pens. To use a pen that you shake, then press the nib to bring the ink out so that you can finish the grout better.

Before you start, try a test area in a less conspicuous part of the room. Just in case you don't like it! This can be a good way to decide if it's right for you.

All in all, we are very happy with the result, which is exactly how I "think" the tiles will look when we first finish the kitchen. It's worth noting that this is obviously a fresh finish, so if you have similar ideas, then you should act on them and you can make a really affordable change without much trouble.
